| Week 1 This week has been all about the volunteering, and setting up safaris for the weekends. I am teaching English to 12-13 year olds, and I am helping to build a toilet for a primary school. The current toilet is overflowing, and the school can't afford to replace it. We are based at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, so the weather is quite cold and wet. It has rained every night and mourning this week, making the building very hard work! The area is very beautiful, and we are surrounded by mountains and banana plantations. I have set up some safaris so that I can get more material for my art. Next weekend I shall take one day off from volunteering, and have a long weekend. I shall go round Lake Manyara, and Ngorongoro Crater. I hope to see some Tree Climbing Lions in Lake Manyara, and hopefully in the crater I shall see the Big 5. |
